CLOSURE/INJECTION MOLDING PROJECT ENGINEER

ALPLA Inc, a worldwide leading manufacturer of plastic bottles and packaging with more than 100 plants over 30 countries and 7 in US has an excellent career opportunity for an CLOSURE/ INJECTION MOLDING PROJECT ENGINEER in our Technical Center, located in McDonough, GA.

 

Main Purpose of the Job:

The incumbent of this position is responsible for all projects related to closures, from customer contact – after sales - to implementation.  He/she is the first contact for the customer for technical questions and innovations. 

 

 Main Responsibilities:

· Responsible for innovation – concept  to implementation 

· Manages innovative customer projects from first customer contact to implementation

· Observes the market movements and trends in order to be able to react fast on new developments

· Provides technical support for Business Unit Manager, Sales, Packaging Manager, and Product Design

· First contact for all plants for technical questions/support

· Responsible for standardization of the toolmakers

 

 Education/Experience:

· 4 year technical degree

· Min 5 years experience in closure business in plastic packaging

· 2 – 3 years leadership experience

 

 Qualifications/Skills:

· Excellent Projekt Management Skills: proven ability to complete projects on-time and within budget

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Understanding of mold construction in order to communicate efficiently with toolmaker, provide direction, and coordinate activities

· Capable of designing (calculating) necessary mold components, ordering molds and coordinating all components for sampling
