CNC Laser Machine Operator

 

Responsible for the set up and operation of multi-axis numerical control laser cutting machines for manufacturing.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Initiate CNC Laser set-up and operation for cutting various materials.  Experience with other thermal cutting machines not limited to high definition plasma cutters, punch/plasma.
2. Capable of running machine and observe cutting operations.
3. Compares and monitors numerical data displayed matching specifications on operations sheet.
4. Capable of presetting the machine for cutting operations. Programming the machine a plus!
5. Replaces consumable tools, mirrors and the ability to focus the machine at specified change points to reduce machine wear.
6. Operates machine on preliminary dry run before cutting first part to detect errors in program.
7. Will provide technical assistance and guidance to other laser operators.
8. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
9. Off-shift (2nd and 3rd) opportunities available.
10. Perform all duties in a safe manner.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Diverse experience in machine controls.
2. Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision
3. Must be a self-starter that works well with others
4. Ability to read blue prints and schematics
5. Possesses excellent communication and problem solving skills
6. Dependable and reliable
7. Highly motivated and results driven
8. Experience with lean manufacturing and kaizen techniques
9. Must have strong work ethic, sense of urgency and a high energy level
10. Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
11. Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends to meet business needs
12. Ability to work with a diversified work force

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent is required, with 1 - 5 years CNC laser cutting and machine set up experience.


Need 2 for each shift 1st shift ( 7 AM -3 PM ) 2nd shift ( 3 PM -11-PM ) and 3rd shift ( 11 PM-7 AM )
