JOB SUMMARY FOR CNC MACHINE TOOL SERVICE ENGINEER
Performs field service function for Stone Machinery CNC Machine Tools and manufacturing equipment. Service work may include, but is not limited to, electronic troubleshooting, routine maintenance, mechanical repairs, modification, machine setup, or training of customer personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Travel to customer site to perform required tasks.
Understand map reading and directional understanding
Be able to troubleshoot CNC Machine Tools and metalworking equipment and resolve a high percentage of mechanical, electrical, programming issues unassisted and the balance with technical phone support.
Maintain a positive, professional relationship the with customer personnel.
Document pertinent technical and customer information to facilitate the ongoing business relationship.
Be proactive at learning new components and design principles as they are introduced.
While at customer site, proactively identify opportunities for sale of products that will enhance customer’s process/efficiency in the scope of the machinery.
Train customer personnel in the preventive maintenance of the machinery.
Responsible for complying with all safety policies and procedures.
May be assigned related tasks and projects as required such as trade shows and open house setup.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Individual must have good mechanical and electrical background, preferably in a manufacturing or production area. Should have a basic knowledge of PLC and/or electronic controls. Must be capable of reading blueprints, machine drawings, and electrical drawings. Has to be skilled in the use of a laptop computer and related software, variety of machine and hand tools, and must be willing to travel. (5-8 overnights per month)

Push on drill 14 to 19 lbs. force (1 or 2 hands depending on position) continuously.
Balance continuously-while climbing and working around machinery.
Use foot controls occasionally-drill press and pallet jack.
Carry metal parts and tools ranging from 1 lb. - 10 lbs. between 5-20 ft. continuously.
Carry metal parts ranging from 11 lbs. - 24 lbs. between 5-20 ft. frequently.
Carry metal parts ranging from 25 lbs. - 50 lbs. between 5-20 ft. occasionally.
One hand carries 70-lb. toolbox to/from car to cart rarely.
Lift metal parts and tools ranging from 1 lb. - 10 lbs. at 36” occasionally.
Lift metal parts ranging from 11 lbs. - 50 lbs. at 36” occasionally.
Lift metal parts ranging from 1 lb. - 24 lbs. from 6” to 36” frequently.
Lift metal parts and gearboxes ranging from 25 lbs. - 50 lbs. from 6” to 36” occasionally.
Lift metal parts ranging from 1 lb. - 30 lbs. from 6” up to 72” occasionally.
Lifting over 50 lbs. is performed by 2 employees.
