COMMODITY SPECIALIST

This position is for a Commodity Specialist with a strong background in electromechanical assembly, machining and metal fabrication purchasing, reporting to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager. The successful candidate must be skilled in negotiations for the purpose of securing significant cost and performance improvement, and in managing key supplier relationships at a strategic level. This position also requires knowledge and experience with global low cost sourcing, Higher Level Assembly (HLA) outsourcing and support of New Product Introduction initiatives. This position requires an individual with the skill set to manage and mentor members of the commodity team and facilitate collaboration with suppliers and across functions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

4-year degree or equivalent preferred, relevant technical experience a plus

7-10 years of supply management or equivalent experience in support of low volume/high mix, complex engineered product manufacturing

SAP experience a plus, ERP system knowledge a plus

Experience within semiconductor industry a plus.

Strong verbal and written communications skills

Strong negotiating skills

Strong use of Excel/Word or comparable spreadsheet/word processing software

Strong focus on providing customer service

Strong management and people skills
