CONTRACT HR GENERALIST/BENEFITS ADMINISTRATOR NEEDED IMMEDIATELY!

CONTRACT DURATION; 6-8 MONTHS

Our client, a leading furniture manufacturer based in Oakland, is seeking an experienced HR Generalist with broad experience in Benefits Administration.

The qualified candidate must have the ability to work with little and/or remote supervision and will be highly organized and systematic, in their approach to work. You will possess a professional and neutral demeanor, exceptional interpersonal skills and be trustworthy. Experience closing a factory, plant or distribution center is a major plus.

Qualifications:

1. 5-10 years recent HR Generalist experience.

2. Well-versed in HR practices and in CA employment law. (PHR or SPHR, a definite plus)

3. Good computer skills utilizing MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. (MS Access is helpful, but not  required.

4. Mature individual with good judgment.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

-Treat all employees with dignity and respect

-Handle general employee requests (copies of files, insurance disputes, etc.)

-Create and maintain documentation for onboarding, terminations and disciplinary actions

-Responsible for maintaining accurate, relevant employee files

-Consults with employees, leaders and business partners regarding policies and procedures

-Consults with Employers Group, as needed

-Assists with implementing exit activities (help prepare WARN notices, exit packets, scheduling exit interviews and other related meetings, interacting with appropriate translators)

-Assist with finalizing employee file maintenance (packing and sending files to corporate office)

-Maintain confidentiality and communicate in a calm, professional manner

-Take direction from HR Manager, working without close oversight - keeping HR managers and others informed, as needed
