Job Description
Essilor Campus Security, Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Support and Training Manager
Purpose of position
Perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to, training and audits of effective environmental, health, and safety processes in Essilor facilities and hands-on training of local resources. Work with local teams to achieve compliance with Essilor’s EHS policies plus federal, state and local laws and regulations, including but not limited to EPA, OSHA, DOT, and FDEP. Work with HSM on security systems, provide guidelines for campus security.
Primary responsibilitiesProvide training to campus safety wardens for all aspects of emergency proceduresWrite SOP’s for campus security and safety procedures.Develop and maintain call trees for emergency planning, response and recovery personnel.Serve as subject matter expert on environmental, health, and safety issuesPlan activities and convey those plans effectivelyDevelop curriculum and conduct training to ensure Essilor’s compliance with DOT hazmat shipper requirements; EPA hazardous waste management (RCRA) and OSHA powered lift truck operator.Provide training materials and documentation as neededCoach employees, including managers, develop campus wide sense of awareness & importance.Identify performance measurements to verify training effectivenessObtain specialized resources as requiredShare lessons learned with other facilitiesProvide technical support to Essilor’s emergency planning teams and response events.Other tasks as directed by manager
Required knowledge, skills, & abilitiesTechnical know-how with respect to environmental, health and safety concerns
· Strong desire for hands-on work in a production environmentProven training capability; at ease with hourly employeesManagement presence; able to convince business unit of importance of compliance and improvementOutstanding people skills and ability to work effectively in a team based environmentOutstanding speaking and writing skillsFunctional knowledge of Microsoft Office
· Self-directed, self-motivated, and self-managing
· Travel limited to 10 to 15% as needed for training
Desired knowledge, skills & abilitiesStrength in data collection, analysis, and presentation
Required experience5 years experience in EHS role3 years experience in Project ManagementCompletion of internal and/or external certification courses to qualify for teaching DOT Hazmat, RCRA and power lift truck operatorTraining experience
