Capital Procurement Agent

JOB DESCRIPTION: Primary responsibilities will be to coordinate and manage purchasing / supply management activities for capital projects for three (3) sites. This includes team-based vender selection / evaluation, negotiating / auditing vendor contracts, and reporting results. Execute purchasing practices and policies to ensure cost effective results and ethical relationships with venders. Work with buyers, engineers, and other personnel to ensure quality of vendor service and project requirements are met. Responsible for making recommendations for supplier selection and for leading sourcing and negotiation process. Ensure appropriate documentation is in place to support the capital projects. Review competitive bid process, the competitive bids, and negotiating all contract terms. Manage supplier relationships and act as the liaison between company and vendors to resolve any problems that arise. Establish system for supplier performance management feedback. Ensure high standards and optimize spending performance and return on capital employed (ROCE). Exercise due diligence and analysis throughout the procurement of goods and services related to capital projects. Support development of policies and procedures regarding the bid process and the procurement function. JOB REQUIREMENTS: BS in Business, Supply Chain, or closely related degree. 3 + years of purchasing experience. Experience managing the procurement of capital equipment and/or construction projects is strongly desired. Project management experience. Background purchasing for multiple sites. $80M + spend responsibility a must. Experience with vendor management, value analysis, contemporary procurement processes, negotiating contracts, and understanding or lien laws, pricing methods, accounting practices, and related manufacturing costs/supply sources.
