Chemist / Paint Formulation / Coating Position

One of the nation's largest manufacturers of garden mulch products has immediate position available at our Madison Florida mulch colorant dispersion facility.  Applicants should have extensive experience in formulating iron oxide and carbon black dispersions capable of fulfilling the following duties:

Duties Include:

Improve quality of current products by evaluating optional ingredients to improve overall quality.

Evaluate, monitor, and improve current suppliers of ingredients to maximize quality control and produce a consistent product. 

Negotiate pricing with suppliers to achieve favorable pricing by considering the pricing of optional suppliers to achieve the best value.

Manage inventory control in a manner that best benefits the company objectives.

Oversee and manage approximately 10 person working in dispersions facility to include training, safety, quality control, etc.

Communicate with other divisions of company to maintain a team environment.  Strong communication skills a must!

Evaluate opportunity to produce dispersions from carbon black that are currently purchased by company in the form of finished goods through partnership agreements.

Must be willing to be hands on and not scared to get hands dirty.

Monitor and maintain hazardous materials and OSHA procedures that apply to facility and finished goods.

Pay scale $50,000.00 Plus.

Conduct research to evaluate opportunities to produce value added products such as long lasting coatings for mulch and incorporating other ingredients that have the potential of producing new products that can be launched into the market.
