Coater

Basic Description: The Coater position is described as a non-exempt technician who has learned the basic functions of the coating processes and equipment. The Coater will continue to develop their skills and focus on improving accuracy and efficiency on the Production Floor. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: Operation of a Coating Chamber. Maintain chamber cleanliness. Maintain all required work logs. Notify Engineer of any abnormal deviation of the coating process. Perform scanning of witnesses and/or products for Engineer's evaluation. Perform support activIties Including but not limited to: Sandblasting, Cleanroom maintenance, Substrate cleaning Maintain a clean and safe work area. Performs other related duties and assignments as required. Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge: Basic math (High School level or equivalency). Able to articulate chamber Issues to Engineers and Maintenance personnel Ability to perform various processes on the assigned chamber from written instruction. Physical environment/working conditions: The position is in the manufacturing area and could involve sitting or standing for long periods throughout the day. Bending and reaching into the Coating Chamber may be necessary to perform activities necessary for chamber maintenance. A respirator will need to be worn when performing certain operations associated with the coating chamber and the sandblast room. Supervlslon: An Engineer, Supervisor, or senior technician will periodically inspect work for quality. Other: Displays good use of time management through out the shift. Participate In discussions related to team issues, process improvement, and troubleshooting in a formal or informal setting. Must work well in a team while contributing to its activities. Have a basic understanding of the troubleshooting issues related to the performance of the coating chamber. Interacts with the shift lead or s5upervlsor on developing improvements within the department.
