Computer Programmer

Monode is a family owned business with over 50+ years in the marking industry.  We have a wide bandwidth of customers ranging from the commercial sector in medical, industrial, and aerospace to the military with customers such as the Air Force and the Marines to name a few.  Our software department develops in both VB and .NET with a large number of custom applications deriving from these two programming languages but not limited to them. We also have a unique way of tying database solutions to web pages and provide and overall system solution.

 

The person we are looking is a focused hard working individual that wants to learn and grow with our company.  The skill set needed for this position is a “jack of all trades” and flexible.  Specifically we are looking for someone that can program, work a help desk, interact with customers, and help with documentation.  We have a great staff that is willing to teach and learn. Our request is for someone that can take direction and execute the task given.

Job Purpose:

Accomplishes software requirements by developing and maintaining applications.

Duties:

* Identify requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and with other persons in a position to understand service requirements.

* Arranges project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements; preparing a work flow chart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic.

* Develops software applications by encoding project requirements in Visual Basic, .NET and other programming languages.

* Confirm program operation by conducting tests; modifying program sequence and/or codes.

* Provides reference for use of prime and personal computers by writing and maintaining user documentation; maintaining a help desk.

* Maintains computer systems and programming guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.

* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

* Protects operations by keeping information confidential.

* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

* Develops and maintains applications and databases by evaluating customer needs; analyzing requirements; developing software systems.

Skills/Qualifications:

Full-Time Computer Programmer position available. Minimum requirement is a BS, preferably in a technical area. Experience necessary in programming for computer hardware using Visual Basic 6, XML, databases, ActiveX in Visual Basic 6 and Visual Basic .net. Experience in networking (Ethernet, Internet) and use of it for Visual Basic 6 and Visual Basic .net. Knowledge of industrial equipment control via computer and computer hardware. A willingness to travel, good written and verbal communication skills, and tech writing experience all a plus. Good salary & 100% tuition.

 

The pay range will be based off of the skill set.
