Continious Improvement Manager
The Continuous Improvement Manager (CIM) provides leadership in quality improvement activities. The successful candidate will have a firm understanding of lean manufacturing processes, ISO certification requirements, procedure documentation and determining appropriate quantitative quality measurements. The CIM oversees a staff of quality assurance inspectors and provides daily guidance, supervision and direction to those individuals. This person works closely with department supervisors and managers to determine the best ways of improving processes and to assure compliance to existing procedures.
Candidates must be self-starters and possess demonstrated abilities to lead, organize and set priorities, to develop and maintain reporting and tracking tools, and to effectively facilitate processes and procedures to support improvement activities.
Prior experience in the following is required: lean manufacturing, kaizen activities, ISO certification, and quality management.
Requirements:
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to read and write in both English and Spanish.Candidates must be able to compose business correspondence and have strong grammar skills. Basic mathematic skills, including knowledge of statistics relating to quality improvement efforts. Computer experience including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.College degree in business or mathematics related field of study or equivalent work experience.Ability to read blue prints.Ability to lead kaizen activities.Ability to use and train people to use inspection, measuring and test equipment.
Responsibilities:Provide training to quality assurance personnel as required.Establish and maintain a high level of product and technical knowledge.Work with the product design group to develop appropriate inspection criteria for new products.Prepare and distribute quality reports.
Prepare written correspondence to external and internal customers as necessary.
Assure customer returns are processed in a timely fashion.Determine appropriate check in procedures for incoming materials and finished goods. Be aware of and identify potential areas of improvement.Work within a team environment to support continuous improvement and lean principles.Provide support for special projects and other duties as required.
