Continuous Improvement Quality Manager

Sauer-Danfoss manufactures hydraulic systems and components for manufacturers of agricultural, construction, road-building, turf care, specialty vehicle, and material handling equipment. Its products are divided into three segments: propel (hydrostatic transmissions), work function (gear pumps and motors, open circuit piston pumps, low-speed high-torque motors, steering units), and controls (electrohydraulic valves). Sauer-Danfoss operates manufacturing facilities in the Americas, Asia, and Europe; more than 60% of the company's sales come from outside the US. The company sells its products directly and through independent distributors to small and large OEMs.

 

We are searching for a Continuous Improvement Quality Manager to support our Plymouth, MN facility.  This facility develops, manufactures, and provides total electronic component solutions to Sauer-Danfoss customers worldwide.  This dynamic leadership role establishes and executes all continuous improvement and quality systems for the electronic components division. The effective manager will have a depth of experience in lean manufacturing, maximizing and enhancing efficiencies in all manufacturing workflows and value streams. 

 

You’ll have an integral leadership role at Sauer- Danfoss, including the following responsibilities:Provides leadership both formally and informally throughout the organizationA member of the Minneapolis plant-site management teamFormal leadership for six direct reports- hire, train, mentor, develop, motivate and engage experienced employeesEnsures working knowledge of quality and lean systems throughout the plant-siteDevelops and leads CI/ Quality strategies to implement common tools and processes, standardizationOversees and calculates all quality and lean metricsContributes to Electronic Components Business Unit CI TeamBuilds strong relationships across the organization

Candidate will have the following experience and knowledge:BS engineering preferred or business degree with a demonstrated technical aptitude3+ years of leadership experience in a lean manufacturing environmentQuality systems expertiseExperience working and leading six sigma projectsManufacturing and operations experienceExcellent project management skillsGreat team player, easily builds relationships with direct reports, peers, and senior managementExcellent written (documentation) and verbal communications skillsExcellent problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities Positive, results driven, and goal oriented leaderThis position requires 25% travel throughout the year

The ideal candidate will have:Experience working within an automotive manufacturing environmentCompleted at least two Six Sigma projects Manufacturing/operations experience in electronics
