Projects involved with:
1. Ownership of production equipment control systems
2. Development of new products and processes
3. Process improvement projects with emphasis on lean manufacturing
4. Capital projects with focus on maintenance of business or cost reduction
Role within group:
1. Individual contributor working in a team based group
2. Primary responsibility will be to support and develop manufacturing process control systems and user interfaces
Day to Day Responsibilities:
1. Assist team of engineers to provide production support and troubleshooting for 24/7 manufacturing operation. Work with production associates, technicians, and engineers to ensure reliable equipment operation via automated control systems and user interfaces.
2. Support process and product optimization/improvement efforts. Develop plans for innovative solutions to technical problems and follow through to implementation.
3. Provide training for engineers and/or production associates as needed for new processes, equipment, or control systems.
4. Lead or participate in capital projects.
5. Serve on weekend production support team approximately every 5-6 weeks.
Required Skills:
1. Technical background in an IT and Engineering Discipline
2. Strong computer programming skills desired (Visual Basic, C, MS Windows, VxWorks, iFIX, VB.Net, MS Word, Excel, Access, or equivalent).
3. Ability to see how computers can automate manufacturing processes
4. Able to troubleshoot simple low voltage electrical circuitry
Desired Skills:
1. 2 + years in Control Systems Integration desired
2. 2 + years in Computer software development experience desired
Education and Experience:
1. B.S. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or Information systems Engg
Travel:
1. Infrequent US travel
