Cummns, Incorporated is currently looking for a Controls Engineer to join the dynamic team at their Consolidated Diesel Company Manufacturing facility in Rocky Mount, NC. Qualified incumbents will have a minimum of five years manufacturing experience with three plus years hands on PLC experience. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a world-class company.Key responsibilties of the position are:Support the design and run off of new equipment- Work on electronic engine interfaces and equipment- Assist maintenance technicians and other controls engineers on specific equipment operations and trouble shooting procedures- Design and create electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls and associated drawings using AUTOCAD- Design equipment using pressure transducers, RTD's PID control loops analog I/O, and other electrical testing equipment- Familiar with NEC, JIC, and NFPA-79 electrical specifications- Use of PCs and Windows operating systems- Skills in file structures and file management techniques are required along with familiarity on computer networking and interfacing- Understand and interpret ladder diagrams/logic- Develop; proof and trouble shoot programs for Allen Bradley PLC 5, SLC, SLL, CONTROLLOGIX to the advanced programming stage - BS in Electrical Engineering (preferred), Computer Science, or related field and/or seven to ten years of manufacturing related experience- Minimum of five years manufacturing experience with three plus years hands on PLC experience-Experience developing, proofing and trouble shooting Allen Bradley PLC 5, SLC, CONTROLLOGIX required, and modicon PLC 584, and 984 experience desired- Thorough familiarity with the National Electrical Code strongly desired- Understanding/experience working with CNC equipmentProven experience in the use of electronic test equipment, oscilloscopes, megohmeters, multimeters. signal generators, logic probes, etc.- Thorough knowledge of 480 volts, 3 phase power systems- In depth knowledge of analog and digital servo drives and software programming skills- Working knowledge of basic quality tools such as: Pareto analysis, 7-Step, FMEA, SPC, Six Sigma, 5S or other documented improvement tools and processes.Compensation: Base salary commensurate with experience plus bonus.
