Corporate Attorney

Description:Job Summary:Seeking a qualified Corporate Patent Attorney for a small, dynamic patent group of a global corporate legal department.Responsibilities include preparation and prosecution of patent applications with potential involvement in a full spectrum of other Intellectual Property matters, including licensing and litigation. The Corporate Patent Attorney will also work closely with engineers throughout the company.Education and Experience:BSEE/BSCS/BACS or equivalent degrees, plus JD. Willing to consider as equivalent experience a registered US patent agent currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school. California bar admission and US PTO admission required. Writing samples are required.Qualifications:A qualified candidate shall have 2 to 3 years experience in patent procurement at top-notch patent firm or multi-national corporate environment, particularly with respect to software patents. Deep technical knowledge in Information Technology/software development while possessing excellent verbal and written skills is crucial to success. Litigation or transaction experience is helpful but is not required.A successful candidate needs to be comfortable in a high performance, fast-paced organization while working independently. Further, excelling at this position requires active participation in a strong team environment.Primary responsibilities include drafting patent applications, invention mining, and managing outside counsel.
