Cost Engineer / Project Controls

Responsibilities:

▪  Interface with Project Team, Purchasing, and Finance, as required, to support project.

▪  Review and process invoices for accuracy, project approval and financial compliance

▪  Understand contracts established

▪  Monitor cash flow of the project utilizing SAP (Envision) and off-line tracking (vs. approved funding)

▪  Provide required financial reporting to Project Manager, Project Director, Element Leads and Finance.

▪  Communicate any financial issues or discrepancies to the Project Manager.  Work with Project Manager to research and develop solutions to address any issues uncovered. 

▪  Develop reports using Access, Excel and/or Envision/SAP to support Finance, budgeting and project communication requirements.

▪  Work with Project Manager and Element Leads to ensure purchase requisitioning, invoicing and cash flow conforms to structure and budget.

▪  Translate approved 650/supplements and year-by-year budgets into  structure spending plan

▪  Monitor and recommend scope/funding changes as required for project changes – maintain DCN log and forecast impact

▪  Work with Project Planner/Scheduler to interface the project budget and spending with the project schedule

▪  Audit contractor cost performance by “fair cost estimating” selected contractor proposals and completed jobs

 

 

 

Deliverables:

▪  Maintain project cost control through each of the phases of the project

▪  Provide bi-monthly cost status reports on project

▪  Provide proper settlement of capital assets (asset tracking, asset disposal and asset capitalization)

▪  Provide for proper financial close-out of the project.
