DIRECTOR OF ALTERNATE CARE SALES -
CRITICAL CARE
With a proven track record as a regional or business manager and demonstrated strong leadership ability, the successful candidate will set the objectives, strategy and tactics for achieving goals for the alternate care sales team, direct regional managers and sales representatives and work cross-functionally with other internal departments to maximize division sales efforts.  Additionally, the incumbent will establish, define and manage with a clear strategic direction and long-term goal attainment for the sales group and drive, develop and maintain new business with customers.

Qualifications include:
• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sales management or a related field; MBA or advanced degree in closely-related field preferred.
• 10+ years' sales experience with at least 5 years within the medical device industry/related field. 
• 3+ years' supervisory or sales management experience. 
• Broad working knowledge of Smiths Medical products and market.
• The abilities to:
o Coach, guide, mentor and develop staff members to enhance their performance and provide succession.
o Address and resolve critical issues and make timely decisions in a complex and dynamic environment.
o Provide motivation to sales team members.
o Delegate effectively through regional managers and other managers as appropriate.
o Travel 20% of the time.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, leadership, interpersonal, verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of effective sales techniques and processes.
