DIRECTOR OF SALES TRAINING
Supported by at least eight years experience within the medical device sector, the successful candidate will be a highly skilled and effective sales professional who will lead the strategic direction of Sales Training in the implementation of learning and leadership initiatives that support Smiths Medical Critical Care's global sales organization.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Establishing alignment and focus with respective marketing teams and ensuring shared vision translating strategy and tactics into actionable behavior by the field sales teams. Acting as the key liaison with key stakeholders in the SMCC sales and marketing organizations, as well as SMCC leadership. Directing the activities of training managers, certified field trainers, support staff, external consultants and matrix team members. Providing strategic direction for the planning, design, development and implementation of training modules/materials and programs for new product launches, line extensions, and technical issues. Working collaboratively with sales and marketing to coordinate the design, and then directing the development of training workshops to support national sales meetings and regional product and/or development workshops. Directing the design, development, assessment and ongoing management of new hire training programs. Providing training solutions that enhance the effectiveness of the field sales force and field management.
Requirements include:BA/BS; MBA (or equivalent experience) a plus. Medical device experience in a home office environment. Team management experience; experience managing sales or training teams strongly preferred. Proven experience as a manager or director in a HQ or affiliate-based sales training department. Understanding of legal and compliance issues facing a medical device organization. Understanding of field-based and internal employee responsibilities. Strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication, multitasking, presentation, organizational, planning, project management and computer (including PowerPoint and Excel) skills.
