DATA ANALYST

POSITION SUMMARY



Works with operational business teams to collect, evaluate, develop, deploy, and maintain availability of complex data sets in support of ongoing corporate decision making processes.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Develops and maintains an in-depth knowledge of corporate data structures.Consults with report writers and other business data consumers to define and create reporting data sets.Maintains accuracy and availability of corporate reporting data sets as source data sets evolve.Analyzes and recommends improvements to existing reporting and source data sets.Migrates large pools of data in support of new IT initiatives.Decide the appropriateness of an existing data structure for a new reporting need.Recommend tools and processes necessary to complete a data migration project.Troubleshoots database and reporting concerns raised by operational teams; reports corrective actions as necessary. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

 

Qualified individuals will possess a BS Degree in Information Sytems, Computer Science or equivalent field with a minimum of 4 years experience with relational databases as a database administrator, programmer/analyst, data analyst, or data migrator.

 

·  Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports

·  Relational database skills (SQL, PL/SQL, SQL+)

·  Experience with Microsoft SQL Server

·  Data modeling & query scripting skills

·  Ability to visualize and compile large sets of data into a clear and presentable format

·  Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally

·  Work effectively with teams utilizing a customer centered approach

·  Manage changing priorities within a fast-paced dynamic environment

 

DESIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

 

MCSA/MCSE/MCDBA certification with experience working in a direct marketing environment.
