Therapeutic specialties — Gambro BCT delivers a range of technologies that enable advances in medicine through innovations in stem cell and white blood cell collections, cell and tissue processing, and therapeutic apheresis. Therapeutic apheresis is a process removing disease mediators or disease-carrying media from the patient. Cell therapies is the collection of blood cells, including peripheral blood stem cells and monocytes, from a patient or donor’s blood stream, then processing and re-infusing as a part of various treatments.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Gambro BCT is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Data Architect. This individual will hold responsibility for enterprise data architecture design and strategy. Duties include requirements analysis and modeling a new data warehouse environment, working directly with business stakeholders in a Business Intelligence Competency Center (BICC) to manage requirements, rapid development and release of BI functionality, data stewardship and BI education.

This position will also work with the enterprise architecture team to align data architecture with other technology architecture and business architecture. In addition to traditional data architecture concepts the candidate must have either experience with or a grasp of newer concepts such as, operational BI, EII, data services within a SOA and information as a service (IaaS).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· All levels of data warehouse design with some OLTP data design

· Assist database developers with physical models

· Conduct data modeling sessions and design reviews

· Participate in and lead other requirements sessions as part of the BICC

· Formulate data architecture strategies around metadata, master data management, data quality, data warehousing and operational BI

· Develop enterprise data architecture in conjunction with business architecture and overall enterprise technology architecture including data services in a service oriented architecture

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must be a practicing data architect, 5-10 years (not to be confused with DBA or database architect)

· Should be open to variety architectural approaches. Must be current with emerging technologies and a progressive architect

· Experience must include:

o Logical data modeling with physical modeling involvement

o Data warehouse design and dimensional modeling

o Master data management, metadata management and data quality

o Traditional ETL batch data movement and event driven data movement using a tool such as BizTalk

o Business intelligence including operational BI

· Nice to have

o Data services in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)

o Enterprise architecture

o Experience with a business intelligence competency center
