Data & Reporting Architect/Writer

POSITION OVERVIEWDesign and develop reporting and business intelligence (BI) solutions.  Primary focus is delivering scheduled, on-demand and ad hoc reporting solutions, as well as, designing, building and provisioning a reporting data warehouse.  Support tool evaluation and selection process to conceive and construct data warehouse, ETL (extract-transform-load) processes and BI reporting tools.  Work with management, operational personnel and other application developers to ensure reporting and analysis solutions meet required specifications and business logic in a timely and cost effective manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:· Organize and maintain library of data exports and reports; fulfill user requests for data/reports· Develop new queries and reports using SQL and various reporting utilities to access and report data from Oracle and SQL Server databases· Design reporting data warehouse and ETL processes to provision optimized reporting data store· Evaluate, select and implement BI reporting tools and critical reports· Derive reporting and BI analysis requirements through working with management and operational personnel· Utilize structured development methodology and artifacts defined for Application Development team· Test computer systems according to specifications, IT standards, procedures and methodologies· Record and update all system requests in System Request and Project tracking logs· Update time tracking logs weekly, detailing time spent on activities throughout the week· Alert IT management of circumstances and conditions that could impact service levels· Embrace and champion the use of productivity tools by the technical staff to improve productivity· Perform other tasks as assigned QUALIFICATIONS· Minimum of 3 years relational database and SQL experience, preferably Oracle (8i) or higher and SQL Server 2005· Strong PL/SQL skills required· Data warehousing and ETL experience required· Microsoft Office and productivity tools required· VB.NET, ASP.NET 2.0 experience is a plus· Siebel data schema experience is a plus SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES· None EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE· College degree or equivalent work experience preferred· Three to Five years of development experience required There is no relocation offered for this position.  Out of state candidates will not be considered.  In addition, my client can not sponsor or transfer Visa’s.  Those requiring sponsorship or Visa transfers will not be considered. Qualified/Interested candidates should send a Microsoft Word copy of their resumes to BrettRomanoski@MergisGroup.com .   Built on more than 30 years of expertise, The Mergis Group is a specialty recruiting firm committed to helping professionals make the best career choices.
