Database Analyst - Lamb Weston
Under the direction of the IT Director, coordinates efforts related to database design, construction, analysis, implementation and daily support. The primary responsibility of the Database Administrator will be to develop complex database systems, coordinating with users to determine requirements. Analyze designs, creates and implements more complex databases including access methods, device allocations, validation checks, organization and security. Design complex data models, logical and physical databases, data dictionaries and schemas. Liaison with database software vendors and external technical support on issues such as software upgrades, problems and potential solutions. Review systems under development and related documentation. May coordinate activities of the project team and assist in monitoring project schedules and costs.Position ResponsibilitiesThe Database Administrator will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in and perform the following activities:" Full testing of all database components." Driving the creation and maintenance of database objects." Administering database security." Maintaining database backup / recovery environment." Implementing physical database designs." Verifying software licensing and compliance." Creating and/or updating documentation." Installing DBMS software." Activating DBMS engines and configuring DBMS instances." Performing assigned Incident Management duties, to include on-call rotation." Isolating, diagnosing and resolving DBMS problems, including root cause analysis." Documenting and communicating findings and recommendations for resolutions." Analyze and accommodate backup/recovery requirements." Interpreting data models and applying physical design considerations." Analyzing and reviewing complex logical database models." Evaluating test results of applications as it relates to performance and business processes." Proactively monitoring system performance and availability." Assisting and mentoring less experienced staff to resolve complex problems." Analyzing database requirements to meet the needs of Enterprise initiatives." Performing overall tuning of the database management system." Creating and maintaining schemas." Designing / creating database tables, views, plans and packages." Designing and developing system test plans, including functional, integration, and stress." Designing and documenting complex system installations and integration in multiple database platforms." Designing and documenting server / storage support processes and standards.Perform other duties as assigned by the IT Director.Position QualificationsThe environment consists primarily of Microsoft SQL servers connected via local and wide area networks. The employee can expect to work a typical work day but may be required to work after hours and occasional weekends performing maintenance and support duties. On occasion, the DBA will be expected to travel and assist other ConAgra Foods locations in providing support and services. A 4-year degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or a similar discipline is preferred. Experience in data base design, SQL Server administration, data transformation, SQL scripts, and query design are required. Four or more years work experience in various aspects of data base administration, including data analysis, data management, database design, and data replication. Demonstrate an understanding of business operation and how relational data can be used to improve the business. Ability to lead project teams and actively participate in team processes. Must be able to work in a pressure situation effectively and meet strict deadlines with high quality and structured results. Ability to collaborate and coordinate with colleagues is essential.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
