Demand Forecasting/Inventory Analyst!

 

Edmund Optics, a well-known, family-owned and operated and global enterprise with a proven track record for valuing their employees as equally as their customers is searching for a self starter with exceptional time management skills for an Analyst position in its Inventory Management department.

 

Duties:

· Recommends areas that will lead to the reduction of global inventory while increasing customer service levels and lowering operating costs.

· Develops and implements effective customer based management techniques to assure forecasts are accurate and customer deliveries are satisfied.

· Develops product forecasts across a variety of market segments using Made2Manage Demand Planning software.

· Monitors and improves forecasts when new information becomes available.

· Collaborates with Marketing, Sales and Inventory to provide data to develop a forecasting and inventory plan.

· Interacts with Marketing and Sales personnel to acquire additional forecasting information and keep data and assumptions current.

· Analyzes inventory trends (overstock, out-of-stock, shadow demand).

· Identifies potential cost savings opportunity.

· Ability to work on multiple projects with minimal supervision.

· Ability to create logical reports that can be evaluated by buyers, product line managers and management team.

 

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Business or 3-5 years equivalent work experience.

· Prefer 2 to 3 years in a distribution or manufacturing environment.

· Familiar with inventory and Demand Planning terms.

· Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

· Possess strong analytical, research and creative problem solving skills

· Analytical ability and excellent communication and written skills.

· Be motivated and a self starter with the ability to prioritize and organize time effectively and work with little supervision

· Must have great attention to detail, a positive attitude and good interpersonal skills.
