Demand Planning Manager

We currently have an opening for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Demand Planning Manager.

 

Summary:
The Demand Planner manages the S&OP demand planning function and works closely with the commercial leadership team to develop a rolling 18-month, consensus forecast at an aggregate product family level for all the SMS product families. The Demand Planner drives overall coordination and communication required to gather, compile, and disseminate all the information needed by the demand planning team to develop the demand plans, by the supply planning team to develop supply plans, and by the financial group to project financial numbers and update the annual operating plan.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demand Planning Focused:
• Play a leadership role in defining demand planning process requirements, including software and reporting implementations.
• Act as the Demand Solutions (DS) super-user and as the business and IT liaison for forecast management.
• Support the gathering and compilation of the information for demand planning team to use in updating rolling forecast.
• Routinely maintain Demand Solutions’ system data.
• Support product life cycle management as it relates to demand plans.
• Coordinate and facilitate monthly demand planning meetings.
• Maintain demand planning team activity log and action item list.
• Update demand planning spreadsheets and graphical displays.
• Gather and report necessary Key Performance Indicators (KPI) metrics.
• Develop, track, and implement forecast quality improvement plans.
• Act as lead communicator, across business functions, regarding demand plans and other demand planning outputs; and lead coordination efforts with operations, product management, finance, customer service, etc.
• Assist with financial analysis and integration to quantify sales, margins, etc.
• Participate in the monthly S&OP executive review meeting.
• Lead or support additional analysis as needed.
• Actively seek to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the demand planning function and the S&OP process.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Strong background in forecasting and planning
• Excellent analytical skills
• Experience in the application of statistical analysis
• Knowledge of supply chain management
• Solid financial analysis abilities
• Proven leadership skills
• Effective communication skills, including verbal and presentation skills
• Ability to work across organizational boundaries and levels; team-oriented
• Experience in project management or software implementations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE SOUGHT:
• BS in Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related experience
• MBA preferred
• At least 2 - 5 years of forecasting and planning experience
• Knowledge of Demand Solutions & SAP preferred
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
