Cooper Power Systems, a $1 Billion division of Cooper Industries, has an immediate opening for a Design Drafter at our South Milwaukee, Wisconsin facility. Position Title: Design Drafter POSITION OVERVIEW: Product Designer is responsible for creating high quality custom designed products at a minimum cost while meeting and exceeding customer satisfaction. The Product Designer will utilize Autodesk’s AutoCAD and Inventor products as well as other business tools including SAP to communicate Product Definition requirements to the business. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Create custom product designs that meet customer requirements, and meet or exceed quality and cost targets. Create 3D models and drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD. Create product Bill Of Materials and execute Engineering Change Requests, and enter into the ERP system (SAP). Review Design Specs to understand customer requirements, interact with Marketing and Proposals as required. Support manufacturing and resolve design issues for designs created. Continuously expand knowledge of custom distribution switchgear products. Complete design and information requests for Marketing, Proposals, and Service. Define and Implement process improvements that improve the efficiency of the Custom Engineering Team.
