Detailers (CAD Operators)

Since 1915, CMC has manufactured, recycled and marketed steel and metal products and related materials.  Today, we have operations in more than 200 locations worldwide.  We are looking for a Lead Detailer and experienced Detailers to join our growing company at our Peru, IL facility. 

 

In the Lead Detailer position we require a great combination of customer, technical and project management skills.  Must be able to detail and check low to high complexity projects.  The Lead Detailer will also assist the Drafting Manager with scheduling and project reviews.

 

The overall responsibilities of the positions is to review, check, and validate all detailed jobs for approval and fabrication before the bill of materials (BOM) are released for production.  Duties include review and check for correctness per the contract documents, verify job files for product information, ensure that BOM released for fabrication is correct, and coordinate between production and the customer the delivery of materials and erection field-use drawings and resolve any outstanding issues.

 

In the Lead Detailer position, we require 5+ years and experienced detailer positions we require 2-4 years of structural steel experience or experience in a related industry. All candidates must be able to read architectural plans and specifications and possess excellent communication and organizational skills especially in file management.  Intermediate skills required in Microsoft Office Suite and Auto CAD (2000 & above). A High school degree or equivalent certification.  College degree a plus.
