Die Cutter Pressman

POSITION SUMMARY:

                Setup, operate, monitor, maintain, and perform minor repairs on die cutter to produce a variety of high quality cartons.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

                1)  Read and follow the job jacket specifications to ensure proper setup and control of the job.

 

                2)  Perform makeready, get management approval, and operate cutting press and automated feed (blanker) and delivery equipment (blanker).  Maintain die cutting tools in good order throughout the production run.

 

                3)  Perform pre-makeready functions as required.

 

                4)  Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs to sustain normal mechanical function of press.

 

                5)  Maintain handtools and the press area in an orderly manner.

 

                6)  Give feedback to management and designers regarding improvements, ie, layout, nicks, etc.

 

                7)  Comply with all plant and department rules and regulations.

 

                8)  Perform other duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the company.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

                The position requires the ability to read, to communicate both verbally and in writing, and to monitor equipment being used and work being produced.

EQUIPMENT USED: Bobst 130ER, Bobst 126, hand truck

                                                               

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Ability to lift a 50  pound load

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
