Die Sort Engineer (Package & Test)

SUMMARY:
The individual filling this position will work 1 weekend day per week, and may work off shift, i.e. evenings, nights. The typical work week will be 45 - 50 hours.
This position is focused on Package and Test Die Sort process engineering improvements through the identification of process and capacity issues in the die sorting process of package and test act Cree, including contract manufacturing (GSB).
Thorough knowledge of all process steps in package and test which include, Probe (Pre die separation wafer test); Die Separation (Wafer Mount to Film Frame through Post dice transfer); Automated Visual Inspection (Whole and diced wafers); Lamp Assembly (Pre & post die separation wafer test and die binning); Die Sort (Multiple bin pick & place); Manual Visual Inspection (Post sort microscope inspection of SDS for Automated Visual Inspection escapes), is required in order to maintain high yield of die through the sorting process and into Finished Goods with minimal post sort die scrap.
Pick and place equipment and processing experience is required for this position in order to aid in yield and capacirty improvement activities and root cause analysis of processing issues and yield excursions.
Project and time management skills are required to plan and execute process improvement activities in addition to, and in parallel with, yield excursion response activities to provide maximum benefit to the company.
This position requires an individual with strong multi tasking skills. It is expected that the individual filling this position will be utilized as a resource to assist with daily process troubleshooting in P & T, as well as, completing assigned projects on time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The individual filling this position will be responsible to work on projects identified by the engineering manager; sustain the Die Sort process, yield and capacity, at Cree Durham; assist the GSB Die Sort engineers with issues detracting from yield and capacity; manage Die Sort technicians across 4 shifts; act as the P & T engineering representative in cross functional meetings, related to new products, with Product and Development engineers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
B. Sc in engineering discipline with 5+ years of applicable experience

2 years of previous project management experience required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
M. Sc in engineering discipline with 2+ years of applicable experience
