These products are grouped under three major lines: Ostomy Care, Continence Care/Urology, and Wound Care. A recognized leader, Hollister has been serving the health care community for over eighty-five years. A global organization, Hollister¡¿s corporate headquarters is located in Libertyville Illinois. It maintains manufacturing and distribution facilities in several locations worldwide and has direct Sales & Marketing units in all major countries. The Director of Business Development will contribute to the growth and profitability of Hollister Incorporated by advising and serving the Global Marketing Group and Business Unit leadership. The services provided involve:The prospecting for and completion of acquisition (or divestiture) targets identified by Corporate Development, Business Unit Leadership, the Global Marketing Organization (GMO) or Senior Management.The management of the business development pipeline and identification or presentation of prospective targets to complement the market development conducted independently by the Business units and GMO.The sales/licensing of in-house products or technologies to third parties.The scope of this position is global.RESPONSIBILITIES: a. (10% of time) To manage new business opportunities received from third parties. Screen incoming new business opportunities and manage their evaluation by GMO where appropriate. Manage relationship with submitters from initial contact to either termination or contractual discussions. Conduct independent market research and/or due diligence on prospects (or products being investigated for acquisition).b. The remaining 90% of time to be devoted to the following activities based on corporate priorities:To identify new business opportunities: Market research in sectors defined as prime areas of interest in the Strategic Plan with Continence Care as a priority Oversee and champion the innovation/ideation program processes with the designated business area leads Initiate contact with prospects to gain insights and define potential interests Present and champion opportunities to GMO for evaluation and decisionTo complete the acquisition of products, technologies or companies: Negotiate with identified prospects Present acquisition proposals to Senior Management and Board of Directors Lead the project management aspects of acquisitions such as the coordination of due diligence and transition activities, the creation of status and issue resolution reports, and Steering Committee updates Actively participate in integration teams post acquisition To manage the tactical aspects of divestitures: Prepare recommendations to Senior Management Identify potential purchasers through market research and direct contact Prepare and present ¡'Offering memorandums¡¿ Conduct business negotiations with prospective buyers Manage the Due Diligence processes conducted by Buyer Manage the timely completion of all legal documentation and requirements Oversee any transition service teams as necessary and requiredTo help leverage Hollister assets through sales and/or licensing of product / technologies: Work with GMO, R&D, and Legal to identify opportunities Search for potential buyers Initiate contact and present opportunity Negotiate transaction and coordinate implementation QUALIFICATIONS: Academic/Credentials/Certifications: ' Undergraduate degree in business and an MBA in Finance, Strategy, or MarketingLength of experience: ' 15 years in business, minimum 10 years in transactional role (e.g., merger, acquisitions) or Corporate Development with at least 5 years in a management / leadership / initiator role' 5-7 years of experience in the medical products industry highly preferred' International (European) experience and affinity a plus' A combination of Industry and Professional Service (investment banking, management consulting) experience a plus Specialized skills/technical knowledge:' Advanced-level proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel modeling' Expectation of advanced-level business case preparation and presentation skills' Hyperion Strategic finance (ALCAR) valuation software experience a plusCritical "Winning Ways" Dimensions:' Result Orientation: Attaining goals, Tenacity, Influencing outcomes' Initiative: Self-managing, Possibility thinking, Creating options' Professionalism: Business integrity, business maturity, sensitivity' Communication: Credibility, persuasiveness, clarityCritical "Key Success factors":' Leadership: Influencing and negotiating, champion change' Interpersonal: Build relationship, Inspiring trust' Motivation factors: Drive to stakeholder success, entrepreneurial risk taking' Thinking factors: Analyze issues, seasoned judgment, visionary thinking, financial acumen' Organizational knowledge: Cross-functional capability, business situation versatilityHollister is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
