Director, Dental Manufacturing

Job Summary ¡V Directs the operation of an integrated and optimized manufacturing unit and fosters high quality, compliance with all regulatory requirements, and cost efficiency. General Functions ¡V „X Implement local manufacturing strategy that is integrated with Zimmer marketing and growth plans. „X Drive and link business opportunities with the application of innovative technologies in manufacturing processes. „X Predict and redesign manufacturing systems to bring about dramatic improvements in performance while still complying with current and future regulations. „X Interface with Product Development, Franchise Management and Marketing groups for successful introduction of new products. „X Attract, retain, and encourage individual development of key personnel for future assignments by arranging appropriate formal training, mentoring, or other experiences. „X Develop and drive an operating culture that promotes consistency of behaviors that lead to superior business performance. „X Lead, manage, and communicate effectively.This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all of the "essential functions" for purposes of the ADAExpected Areas of Competence (i.e. KSAs) ¡V „X Experience with manufacturing technologies used in the orthopaedic implant industry is preferred. „X Experience guiding and implementing high velocity, large scale change initiatives that produce greater level of innovation, quality, service, efficiency, and learning. „X Demonstrated ability to partner with logistics, sourcing, R&D, Quality and other internal functions with proven record of successful negotiations and problem resolutions. „X Ability to effectively lead a team in the achievement of objectives.  „X Understanding of applicable legal and regulatory requirements within the medical device industry. Education Requirements ¡VBachelor¡¦s degree in an applicable engineering or business discipline (or equivalent experience) with 10 years of progressive and extensive applicable work experience in manufacturing, quality, or development engineering of which 3 to 5 years were as a supervisor. Skill Requirements ¡V Must be proficient and have experience with the following areas:  capacity planning and development; budgeting for multiple profit centers; development of quality/productivity plans; new product process development; manufacturing flow analysis and implementation.  Excellent written and oral communication skills and problem solving skills are essential.Licenses/Certifications ¡V Travel Requirements ¡V 1+% Education: BachelorsJob Level: 10+ yearsPercent Travel: 1-10%
