Job Description Director, Distribution Operations The Area Director, Distribution Operations is responsible for providing a high quality service offering to a multi-division customer base via multi-site distribution network. This is accomplished through leadership and support of internal operating standards that drive efficiency, employee satisfaction, regulatory compliance and the desired return. Distribution Center profile includes a broad products offering, hazardous / non-hazardous materials and ambient / temperature controlled products in a “pick and pack” environment. The Area Director, Distribution Operations reports directly to the Vice President, Distribution OperationsMinimum Requirements/Qualifications: . Support service offerings that consistently meet customer requirements.• Line fill/service level • Delivery reliability and on-time performance (WLOTC, carrier launch, etc.) • Assist customer with logistics support as required • Establish an open direct dialog with customer to support VAS offerings and contracts • Gatekeeper; from perspective of expense, service, quality and profitability • Be the region resource on all Distribution Operations issues … train sales reps /managers and customers as required2. Monitor, report and manage all expense and asset lines to insure plans and targets are achieved.• Expense as a % to G.P. (leverage) and/or net sales/cost per line • Managed and controlled directly and through matrix (i.e. Excess, No move, RC90’s, Inbound) • Asset plan performance (Inventory Turns) • Proper labor cost controls, balance and utilization (FTE’s, O.T., Agency) • Use matrix to positively effect region performance (inbound, Inventory Planning, Finance, Transportation)3. Develop, deploy and maintain safety and health plans.• Maintain 100% compliance with EH&S training programs • Management team focus and visible support of safety programs • Commitment and plan to insure all required training is current • Operational excellence compliance4. Proactively develop employees.• Embrace the PMD and HRR process • Establish communication plans (formal/informal) • Establish a clear and uplifting region goal that is understood and consistent with group goals • Access to training and development opportunities5. Develop, implement and maintain an effective Regional Strategy• Take knowledgeable risk • Re-engineer processes that support the customer and cost structure • Drive quality processes that lead to continuous improvements6. Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria: 1. 10-15 years of previous management experience in a multi-site distribution environment.2. The expected travel is 50%. Job Level: Manager
