Goshen Coach Inc., a Thor Commerical Bus Company, is currently seeking candidates for the Director of Human Resources. Goshen Coach is one of the nations largest manufacturers of small and medium duty shuttle and commercial buses. ISO9001:2000 certified.
Position Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for the overall function of the Human Resource Department. This includes: payroll processing, benefits administration, recruitment, employee relations, safety & environmental compliance, training, etc. This position also sits on the company leadership team and is responsible for contributing to the overall function of the organization as well as strategic planning and decision making.
Job Functions:
Extend hiring decisions to hourly employees and put them through required pre-employment paperwork. New hire orientation including instructing employees on filling out all required documentation, conducting HazCom & safety training, explaining personnel policies, and answering any applicable questions. New benefit enrollment processing, as well as changes, terminations and open enrollment. Assist in benefits renewal process and make changes if necessary to benefit SPD's and communicating these changes to the employees. Payroll processing for salaried and office administrative employees as well as special pays such as: commissions, hitches, incentive pay, etc. Authorize and request payments for self-funded insurance plans - audit and monitor each vendor for possible discrepancies. Maintain compliance, awareness, and funding for company 401k program. Responsible for all workmen's compensation - investigations, filing reports, case management, and care direction - as well as the employee return to work program. Counsels and coaches employees at all levels of the organization. Escalation point in the chain of command for employee, safety and payroll related concerns. Responsible for company hazardous waste management as well as all environmental and safety compliance reporting. Company training and training programs. Company event planning and special programs for recognition, holidays, etc. Strategic planning Legal activities such as EEO complaints. Developing new plans and policies to ensure that Goshen Coach is an employer of choice. Lead safety committee meetings and follow-up on action items. Applicable intracompany reports for headcounts, turnover, recordables, etc. Work very closely with all members of the leadership team on projects. Member of the ISO Management Team.
What we are looking for:
3-5 years of progressive HR experience. Prefer at least 1 year in a leadership position. Prefer Bachelor's Degree, however will consider lessor education with appropriate level of experience or applicable SHRM designation. Personality and approachability are extreme musts. This person will have constant face to face contact with employees. Problem solving and analytical skills. Prefer someone with experience with safety and environmental compliance. However, will consider someone without experience if all other principle requirements are met. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with all levels of the organization including the corporate entity, vendors, and suppliers. Ability to be flexible and open to change. Preferably someone who has worked in a manufacturing environment. Someone who is hands-on and doesn't mind working outside their box.
