BSH Home Appliances Corporation, the World’s Third Largest Manufacturer of home appliances, with leading edge high end quality appliances with brands like, Bosch, Gaggenau, Siemens & Thermador is seeking a Director, Purchasing to work in our office located in New Bern, North Carolina.

 

Purpose of Position:

 

Responsible for the overall management, direction and coordination of North America's purchasing activities. Responsible for global sourcing of commodities originating in North America, NAFTA, and additional coordination with South America.

 

Responsibilities :Responsible for FNbW (Laundry), FNbH (Cooking), FNbG (Dishwasher) & FFH (Lafollette TN) purchasing activities.Design and development of a result-oriented strategy, with permanent focus on a continuous Material Cost Reduction and safeguarding the company from market price fluctuation.Initiate and promote the ratio activities right on the development phase of the products and establishment of long-term relationships with key suppliers on the material fields that request it due to high investments or market conditioning.Reinforce the use of the BSH Purchasing Network allowing early involvement of Purchasing in all relevant business processes.Perform Suppliers Management as core function for the business. Evaluation of the Innovation, Quality Service and Price potentials. Definition of the preferred supplier to be integrated in the process of our business.Pursuit of a positive attitude towards competitiveness of the purchasing functions via cost-oriented and benchmarking approaches.Information Management: Achievement of integrated tools for the supplier's management and improvement of the value in supply chain.Personnel Development: Define, implement and support the working guidelines and systems for the development of purchasing personnel with carrier plans.Initiate Group Purchasing contacts on a permanent basis, (meetings/conferences) with the group leaders and buyers of the group for the defining the purchasing strategy and the action plan for the material fields. Promote the use of the existing BSH Network.Development of the contractual documentation needed for supporting the relationship with commodities' vendors.Perform all other duties as assigned.



Requirements :The qualified individual will possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.Two to Five years experience in procurement with an emphasis on a technical background.German language skills necessary.Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.Strong leadership and negotiation skills.Skilled in problem solving and decision making.Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability to operate under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
