Director of Lean

Lean/Productivity Director The Lean Director will have multi-site responsibility for our client’s  Lean Transformation through the implementation of their internal lean system while developing and implementing Continuous Improvement Projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. This person will mentor associates in Lean methodology and tools to eliminate waste in all administrative, manufacturing and support functions. The Lean Director will be held accountable for progress and be expected to use measures and tools on an on going basis. The successful candidate will work with Site and Plant leadership to define the current and future state Value Streams to plan and prioritize continuous improvement activities. The Lean Director will ensure activities are identified and actions are being taken to realize goals set for the facility. This person will be responsible for creating a standardized system and methodology to be used throughout the facility and follows up on improvements to ensure they are sustained. Where appropriate, the Director will support Plant lean team members through required and special team meetings while providing a high level of technical and operational recommendations in meeting productivity, material control, product quality, and customer service goals.Our client needs an individual to document and share "best practice" methods and ideas across the business. This person must establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (Business Leaders, Plant Managers, Function Managers, etc.) for communication of the organization’s goals, processes and achievements.  Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Engineering, Manufacturing/Operations, or Business, MBA preferred Four years experience in a manufacturing environment, with two years in Lean leadership with demonstrated success Lean certification or Six Sigma green or black belt Mastery of Lean principles (Value Stream Mapping, Just-In-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Five S's, Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen, SPC, Six Sigma and Statistical Problem Solving and QS9000) Solid communication, interpersonal skills, with an outstanding ability to influence others. Good understanding of financial measurements and goals in the Lean/Flow throughput world.
