Director of Operations

The Director of Operations will plan, manage, and direct the daily operations of all manufacturing departments.  The applicant will have a proven track record in developing and impacting the operational performance of a manufacturing company as we work to rebuild our foundation through systemic improvement.  Candidate will be committed to supporting and encouraging a team-focused environment.  The position will work directly with the President in recommending and implementing company wide improvements as we work to continue our trend of double digit yearly growth.

 

Primary responsibilities of the Director of Operations include:Mentor and provide direction to leads, supervisors, and managers to become successful leaders and build effective teamsEstablish and implement department policies, objectives, goals, and procedures to maximize efficiencies Communicate with employees at all levels  Provide guidance and assistance in human resources issues such as interviewing, discipline, conflict resolution, and terminationPrepare, manage, and follow annual operations budgetsStrategic planning of capital equipment, process improvements, and employee needs with upper managementReview and analyze financial information to measure productivity and determine cost reduction and process improvement Create and maintain a culture of safety to minimize workplace accidents and ensure compliance on all government mandated requirements Participate on the MRP system implementation team (Epicor Vantage software)

 

Requirements:Minimum 8 years of management experience (50+ employees)Minimum 10 years manufacturing experience, plastics experience preferredProficient with MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office products First-rate communication skills and ability to interface with multiple internal departments at all levels of authorityAnalytical problem solver with a common sense and practical solutions orientationAbility to effectively and efficiently balance competing priorities Bachelors degree preferredLEAN experience a plus
