Director of Sales, Consumer Sealants
Momentive Performance Materials is a new company recently formed by the sale of GE’s Advanced Materials business to Apollo Management, L.P. With more than 5,000 employees, Momentive is a $2.4 B premier specialty materials company providing high-technology materials solutions to the silicones, quartz, and ceramics markets. The company is a global leader with worldwide operations, a robust product portfolio, industry-leading research and development capabilities, and a long tradition of service excellence. The Consumer team will continue to sell GE Branded products for an extended period of time.
This position is the senior sales leader of the consumer sealants business driving $150MM annually and is a key component of the management team. This key player also owns the senior customer relationship at several of the nation’s leading retailers.
Specifically, the Director of Sales, Consumer Sealants is responsible for the development of sales plans designed to achieve business targets. Development of commensurate measurement vehicles to ensure plan success is also critical.
The position also is responsible for the development and execution of go-to-market strategies based on customer segmentation analysis, displacement analysis, opportunity identification and other tools to support the company’s growth initiatives. Growth initiatives include, but are not limited to, new product introductions, share expansion and new customers/business opportunities.
The recruitment, development and management of an internal sales team as well as sales representative organizations are critical roles of this position. Successful candidate must excel at developing best-in-class, aggressive, hungry talent and must possess the ability to motivate and retain this team.
As a key member of the management team, the successful candidate also will have unwavering commitment to the highest integrity standards and be an inclusive, passionate leader who is able to build consensus across the organization and infuse the organization with a sense of energy and commitment to sales leadership. She/He must be a strong customer advocate; a sound strategic thinker, a creative problem solver and possess the ability to craft win-win solutions.
Requirements:
oBA/BS and minimum 10 years business consumer, retail sales experience. Experience with major home improvement, mass merchants and co-operatives strongly preferred.
oProven successful track record meeting/exceeding aggressive goals and developing deep customer relationships.
oDemonstrated strong internal and external communication skills with the ability to penetrate and build relationships within a customer organization at various levels.
oAbility to influence and sell concepts, even intangible concepts, to customers at multiple levels of an organization.
oExperience aligning personal and company sales objectives with customers’ needs in a manner that benefits both parties.
oExperience with MS Office suite, SAP (desired).
oEstimated travel: 50% - 75%.
