Distribution Coordinator

North Safety Products is seeking a Distribution Coordinator to join our Distribution department in Cranston, Rhode Island.  This position is the primary liaison to Customer Service for day to day activities and is essential for keeping our customer commitments for transportation. 

 

The major essential functions of this position are:

·  Primary Distribution contact point for Customer Service request and inquiries related to day to day activities. Coordinate and follow up to ensure that daily schedules are met.

·  Provide shipment coordination and import / export communication as an ongoing part of our transportation activities.

·  Prepare and maintain weekly reports required by the Transportation Department including credit research, premium freight, audit activity, import shipment status report and distribution analysis.

·  Maintain and review weekly transportation data files including freight payment data, freight claims data, and credit data.

·  Update monthly reports for freight analysis, freight claims, accuracy, customer performance, premium freight, and distribution errors.

·  Maintain import and export shipment files as required for Customs Compliance.

·  Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Transportation Service Providers and various internal personnel to maintain maximum efficiency and service to the organization.

 

Required Qualifications:

·  Ability to work flexible hours, typical hours 10:00am to 6:30pm.

·  High School diploma or equivalent required.

·  Intermediate level proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word are required. Familiarity with MS Project is desired.

·  Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as interpersonal skills required. 

·  Excellent organizational skill and attention to detail required.  The ability to multitask is important along with excellent follow up skills.

·  Knowledge of transportation process and procedures desired.

·  Knowledge of JBA software is desired.
