Distribution Manager - Contract Assignment

Aearo Technologies, a leading manufacturer and distributor of high quality safety products, has an immediate opening for a Distribution Manager-Contract 90 Days for our dynamic Northwest, Indianapolis facility. Position Summary: Responsible for coordinating and overseeing third party management of International Distribution Center. Responsible to provide setup distribution processes and procedures.  Responsible for overall performance to key performance indicators.  Responsible for management of US and International transportation. Outside responsibilities include customer site visits for the purpose of identifying customer needs and opportunities to improve service to our customers.  Reports directly to the VP Global Supply Chain Management. Essential Functions:Coordinates and provides analysis of distribution location requirements to include relationship to product supply, customer locations, service requirements and cost analysis.Identifies warehousing and fulfillment work requirements, provides requirements to potential third party warehouses, solicits proposals, analyses proposals, recommends selection of third party operators.Coordinates physical and business setup with third party warehouses to include policies and procedures to meet and exceed our customers’requirements.Education/Experience Required:4 year degreeMinimum of 5 years in an international distribution/warehouse/transportation environment.Hands on experience and a working knowledge:1.      with third party US and overseas distribution operations2.      setting up and overseeing third party warehouse and fulfillment operations3.      negotiating US and overseas parcel, LTL, truckload and ocean freight4.      working with freight forwardersPossess ability to effectively set up warehouse and fulfillment processes and processes between company and third parties, manage third party distribution/fulfillment, optimize transportation to decrease transportation time and drive cost improvements and identify opportunities to improve overall service to customers. Travel-MinimalAble to capture cost savings opportunities and develop analysis independently.Coordinate work requirements independently; interact effectively with all internal and external contacts. Computer literate in Microsoft office and Word. Strong Excel skills required. Strong negotiation skills requiredExperience in MRP software (SAP) a plus Good written and verbal communication skills a must.Aearo offers a dynamic working environment.
