Divisional Safety Manager

 

 

Our client, a leading international manufacturer, is building their team and is seeking an experienced Divisional Safety Manager.

 

As Divisional Manager of Safety, Health and Environmental (HSE), this person will lead and manage the health, safety, and environmental (HSE) function across the organization consisting of several manufacturing facilities.


• This candidate will provide vision, strategic development, management and governance of all aspects of the organization’s Safety program, including:

 

Risk assessment, mitigation, compliance assurance, continuous improvement, development and implementation of best practices.


 
• This candidate will have a strong business acumen and business support focus and understanding.

 

• This candidate will have:

 

5-10 years experience in  a manufacturing environment.

 

Experience in overseeing 5 or more facilities.


Management Authority Including:


1. Interviewing, selecting and training employees.


2. Planning and controlling budget expenditures.


3. Is accountable for the work of a recognized organizational unit.


4. Determining and securing the resources and materials needed to perform the work of the unit.

 

Requirements Include:


1. BS degree in Occupational Safety Management, Environmental Science, Safety or Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry; Master of Science degree is desirable.

 

2. At least 10 years of environmental and safety management experience including line responsibility for environmental and safety compliance. Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.


3. Demonstrated leadership attributes with a minimum of five years in a leadership capacity with proven experience in developing and implementing strategic, company-wide safety, health and environmental programs.


4. Professional certification(s) highly desired.


5. 4 year college degree preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.


Travel required. Extensive PC utilization.
