Drafter/CNC, Point to Point Programmer

·  Prepares geometric layout from graphic displays, using computer-assisted drafting software or drafting instruments and graph paper

·  Sorts shop orders into groups to maximize materials utilization and minimize machine setup

·  Reviews shop orders and print layouts to determine they are accurate

·  Determines reference points, machine cutting paths, or hole locations and computes angular and linear dimensions, radii and curvatures

·  Draws machine tool paths

·  Analyzes drawings, specifications and design data to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds and feed rates

·  Writes instruction sheets, cutter lists and machine instructions programs to guide setup and encode numerical control programs

·  Draws rough and detailed scale plans

·  Lays out schematics and wiring diagrams


·  Creates accurate drawings, either CAD or by hand, in a given time period, adjusting for changing priorities per customer specification.

·  Assists in training of team members to meet established standards.

·  Assists in maintaining and updating drawing files.

·  Other duties that may be assigned on an as-required basis.

·  Assists with the engineering of product.
