Job Description E-Commerce / Web Specialist General Summary:The E-Commerce / Web Specialist will be responsible for design, development and support of the business’s website, e-commerce systems and other online/promotional initiatives. This individual will maintain and manage the business’s Internet presence, electronic commerce systems, catalog database connectivity and other electronic media from a technical perspective This person will be responsible for investigating, coordinating, tracking, and resolving web-related issues for the organization. They will work with the functional areas and technical staff to understand issues and design solutions. Proposed solutions may involve working with functional users, technical people, management, contractors, other divisional and shared services groups, or outside vendors. Qualifications: • A Bachelors degree in Business and/or Computer Science and/or IS/IT is desired. • A minimum of five year’s experience in web development, e-commerce or electronic marketing. • Strong project management experience, including demonstrated success in managing complex projects with internal and external organizations and individuals. • Vendor relationship management experience, preferably web hosting vendor experience. • Web and e-commerce architectural knowledge and experience. • E-commerce experience with payment gateways, tax software, shopping cart engines and PCI compliance. • Technical knowledge and experience in web development technologies such as ASP/HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and the ability to manage vendors in use of these tools. • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to interact with IT technical areas, business customers and external partners. Specific Responsibilities: • Develop new internet/e-commerce and electronic media applications as appropriate, and keeping pace with technology advancements. • Maintain the division’s internet and e-commerce presence from a technical perspective, including e-commerce systems, server management, and data interfaces. • Collaborate with e-commerce teams to enable e-commerce, internet and electronic marketing. This includes design, development, and project management to deliver integrated solutions using best practices and corporate standard solutions. • Manage outsourced vendor relationships including web hosting, e-commerce suppliers, payment gateways, shopping cart engines, and electronic marketing software, and software vendors. • Support data integration to e-commerce platforms from/to key business systems. • Perform advanced problem determination procedures and resolution without assistance and assist other technical staff members with problem determination procedures and resolution. • Provide user support by researching all supplier and customer connectivity, data and mapping issues. • Respond to customer inquiries regarding functionality of the website and related e-commerce systems and determine appropriate courses of action if necessary. • Create written guidelines and procedures for the maintenance of the electronic presence. • Develop and maintain appropriate documentation as necessary and direct the creation of appropriate documentation. • Create and manage detailed project plans and specifications including milestones, resource allocation, and time estimation. • Provide on-call and off-hours support as necessary to ensure proper functioning of the web and e-commerce environment. Assist with, monitor, and direct recovery actions. • Manage site security and ensure compliance with industry standards such as PCI compliance, Sarbanes-Oxley, etc. Education: Bachelors Job Level: Experienced
