EEO/Compliance Manager

Job Description:SUMMARY OF POSITION:The EEO/Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal, State and applicable employment laws and regulations. The EEO/Compliance Manager will design and implement procedures and business practices to ensure company compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements. Be a driver for establishing the company’s proactiveness with respect to EEO and AA issues. Sets Company’s corporate objectives with respect to EEO and AA issues. Raise awareness of EEO and AA issues and ensures compliance with Federal and State regulations. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Corporate Leaders in the development of a Corporate AA Vision and Plan Establishes AA goals for Corporate Staff and US operations, monitor compliance and progress on a quarterly basis and responds accordingly Maintains statistics necessary to monitor the effectiveness of the programs and alerts top management to difficulties encountered in attaining and maintaining compliance with established policies. Develops programs designed to enhance the image of Milgard Manufacturing Inc. as an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer Conducts comprehensive investigations of complex and/or multiple internal ethic hotline claims to include discrimination harassment, and unfair practices; report findings; and work with Masco legal counsel as needed to resolve all issues Communicate, interpret and assess compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, regulatory requirements and policy Review/develop the company’s EEO policy and procedures along with enforcement of the same Establish and coordinate publication of Corporate Policies regarding EEO and AA issues Review, develop and coordinate publication of all HR policies and procedures. Manage company-wide drug testing program, including vendor management of random testing program. Work with parent company, Masco, to implement procedures and programs. Analyze the loss of any and all minorities/females to better understand the root cause for resignation/termination/release of the individual. To establish or not any link to potential discriminatory practices Develops, designs and facilitates appropriate training for management in the area of expertise Advise, counsel and guide HR in the proper use and implementation of HR policies, plans and programs. Works closely with and advises management on HR issues The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees in this position. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. other duties may be assigned or duties may change based on business needs.EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Five (5) years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilitiesEDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources with min 3 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. SPHR/PHR certification desiredESSENTIAL ABILITIES: Must have strong skills in building effective relationships at all levels, influencing others, consultation, facilitation and project management Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups Knowledge of federal and state laws, employment laws, EEOC compliance and Affirmative Action plans, employee relations Ability to investigate, analyze information,draw an unbiased conclusion and bring appropriate resolution Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports Conflict resolution and/or mediations skills Knowledge of computerized information systems used in human resources applications Ability to develop, plan and implement short- and long-range goals Advance analytical and critical thinking skills Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities Program planning, development, implementation and leadership skills High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to professional personnel in area of expertise Sense of urgency and self-motivation; ability to work independently Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Ability to present information to senior management Must be able to motivate employees to achieve results Computer literacy with ability to learn new computer software programs Excellent customer service skills Attention to detail with strong organizational skills Position requires 50-60% travel to various U.S. locationsMilgard does not tolerate discrimination of any type, and offers equal employment opportunity to all qualified persons without regard to race, color, religion, sex, natural origin, age, disability or medical condition, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status or any other considerations made unlawful by Federal, State or local laws.
