ENGINEER II - MANUFACTURING

Genie Industries is a $2 billion (revenue) division of Terex Corporation. Genie, based in Redmond, WA, has approximately 4500 team members spread throughout the globe, though Redmond is the primary location, with 3000+ team members across the corporate campus. The parent company, Terex, is a $7.5 billion (revenue) company that manufactures, sells and services capital equipment for the mining and construction industries world wide. Management desires to maintain much of the small company informality while implementing some of the large company disciplines that are required in today's environment. This position is responsible for the technical development and improvement of manufacturing systems and processes. This includes work sequence, tool, equipment, and machine specification, design, and implementation. Will also provide production support for technical issues. Works closely with production management and tooling in the continuous improvement of existing manufacturing systems, processes and equipment. Part of your responsibilies will include: 1) Quality issue resolution; 2) Process/system design; 3) Project & team management Candidate must demonstrate/provide the following skills and services: " BS Degree in Engineering " 3-5 years experience in lean manufacturing, continuous flow environment. Heavy lifting equipment or related type industry preferred. " Technical expertise to perform root cause analysis - eliminating problems through design analysis, ergonomic improvements, and machine/process improvements, including machine purchase requirements. " Demonstrated project management skills. " Participatory experience in the design and implementation of a new product line in a concurrent engineering (Production Preparation) process. " Demonstrated ability to implement engineering solutions to quality issues in a Lean Manufacturing environment. " Ability to develop machining processes and tooling concepts. " Demonstrated understanding of optimizing material/people flow in fabrication environment. " Excellent problem solving skills and interpersonal skills. " Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to teach others. " Thorough understanding and practical use of JIT, Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques. " Ability to work closely with a diverse group of people in a team environment. " Proficient with computers- MS Word, Excel, Access, CAD/CAM software, and e-mail. " Ability to create and execute plans and cross-functional plans, using area resources " Flexibility to work overtime, different shifts, on short notice, as production requires.
