Eastern Area Sales Manager

Sandvik Mining and Construction, the world's leading supplier of drilling and excavation machinery, equipment and tools for mining and construction industries, is currently looking for an Eastern Area Sales Manager in the eastern United States based out of Mt. Morris, PA. This incredible opportunity will report directly to the VP of Underground Soft Rock Mining.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

In this key role, the Eastern Area Sales Manager will manage all of the Sales and Service in the Eastern United States and Canada for the Underground Soft Rock Mining customer segment. This individual will aid in market presence to eastern states and provinces, and will focus the attention of the Sandvik support team to meet the demands of the market.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Develop sales strategy for the area including sales forecasts, territory potentials, territory analysis, and guide Account Managers on the execution of that strategy

• Work with the Service Manager for the area to develop strategic plan for field service to ensure customer needs are met

• Manage any dealer relationships in the area, and determine if, when, and where additional dealer relationships are appropriate

• Earn business with both existing and potential customers

• Improve the overall profitability of the area

• Analyze jointly with representatives, sales objectives for both present and prospective customers, sales and service activity demands and programs for effective sales coverage

• Help dealers improve the sales and service of Sandvik products

• Responsible for accurate and timely sales reporting

YOUR PROFILE

The ideal applicant will possess formal qualifications in mining, heavy engineering or equivalent discipline combined with previous successful achievement in field sales activities or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through practical work experience. An understanding of the mining industry is strongly preferred. The candidate must be willing to go underground. Demonstrated excellence in understanding of customer relations and customer business processes is preferred. Strong organizational, interpersonal skills, as well as leadership qualities which will contribute to teamwork skills are necessary. Computer literacy is strongly preferred.
