Electrical Engineer

Business Unit Description SPX Process Equipment, Waukesha Cherry-Burrell division, is a manufacturer of stainless steel pumps, valves and process systems for the sanitary and industrial markets. Job Summary The electrical engineer is responsible for design of electrical controls for industrial machinery from specification through commissioning This includes specification reviews, design reviews,, panel design, schematics, documentation packages, PLC programming, testing, and support to production. This engineer will also be responsible for technical support to products currently in production existing customer base. Responsibilities Provides technical direction, serves as a point of contact or business liaison, prepares briefings for senior management and assists in problem resolution specific to the program/project. Designs and tests electrical control systems, generates and validates plc control programs. Writes manufacture and test procedures and reports. Participates in project teams and all activities related to the development of new products. Provides technical support to Sales and Marketing for bids and proposals. Qualifications B.S. in electrical engineering. Minimum of two years of experience in electrical control design. . Experience with Allen-Bradley automation products including PLC¿s, VFD¿s, HMI¿s and network communication. Design of electrical controls to be used in hazardous areas (Class 1, Division 1, Groups C&D) and the use of intrinsically safe circuits. Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD preferred) for use in panel layout and electrical schematic drawings. Knowledge of NEC, UL, cUL, CSA, CE and ATEX codes and regulations. Proficiency in MS Office.
