Cummins Power Generation is a leader in the design and manufacture of power generation equipment and one of the most integrated providers of power solutions in the world.The Power Generation Business is Cummins second-largest segment. The business provides systems and services for a diversified customer base needing self-generated or standby power. Commercial power systems, under the Cummins name in North America, consist of 5kW-2MW generator sets, controls, transfer switches and paralleling switchgear. In countries where utility power is unreliable or unavailable, they are used as a prime source of power.Currently we are looking for an electrical engineer for our Fridley, MN location as an electrical engineer some of your duties will include:Provide electrical engineering leadership to support Cummins 10 - 2500 kW gensets currently in production Using engineering and problem solving skills, provide cross functional leadership to solve complex field and warranty problems. Interface with internal and external suppliers and customers to develop high quality designs. Lead changes to existing products to support warranty reduction, code compliance, supplier changes, emissions compliance, etc. Resolve design related manufacturing issues (stop ships, deviations,etc). Answer engineering related application questions to support sales applications and CAG. Provide work direction and support to engineering technicians to complete engineering prototypes, perform tests and analyze data. Provide work direction and conceptual input to designers. Make and document design changes. Participate in and lead cross functional design reviews. SKILLS - FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years experience designing generator sets or related systems. Familiarity with electrical generating systems including control systems,electrical power distribution, and wiring harnesses, Proficient at analyzing problems using statistics, technical skills, or the appropriate scientific method. Excellent technical and oral communication skills Support off shore engineering initiative. Compensation: Base salary commensurate with experience plus bonus.
