This position will independently employ a solutions approach to resolving issues of Security Technologies' customers through remote diagnostic, advanced troubleshooting, and engineering level product knowledge. This position will interact will various internal customers (such as engineering, marketing, quality assurance, sales and operations) and various level of external customer (such as distributors, facility managers, professional lock smiths, institutional lock smiths, and system integrators)

•Develop an engineering level understanding of the components and assemblies of at least two product lines.
•Visualize specific product geometries and/or electrical pathways in order to form an engineering level understanding of customer communications
•Perform a detailed analysis of a field situation based on verbal or written customer input
•Develop customized solutions for customers based on product and application knowledge.
•Identify the skill level of the customer and explain complex solutions in ways the customer can understand and successfully implement.
•Perform primary root cause analysis of product returned from customers
•Review engineering releases and changes for impact to technical documentation
•Populate the CRM database with solutions to product problems
•Analyze customer requirements and develop product recommendation and templating plans based on those requirements.
•Examine technical documentation for accuracy and make recommendations on content.
•Populate the CRM database with solutions to product problems
•Provide product training to internal customers as required
•Perform customer site visits to troubleshoot and fix problem installations.
•Perform customer site visits to analyze applications and recommend solutions.
•Consult with engineering and marketing on the suitability of product labeling and documentation
•Analyze and understand written specifications and assist customers with product selections that will comply with those specifications.
•Make recommendations on product applications as they pertain to building codes and life-safety issues.
•Provide the operations organization with detailed analysis of reported product issues
•Provide support on other IR Security & Safety product lines as appropriate.
•Employ a “total opening solution” approach to problem solving.
•Examine technical documentation for accuracy and make recommendations on content.
•Support operations, order entry, and other departments outside of Technical Services as required.
