Electrical/Mechanical Technician

Primary Objective of Position:

To safely provide maintenance services for the facilities here at Electric Machinery, 800 Central Avenue.  The maintenance labor services must be performed in a timely manner at a competitive rate.

 

Major Areas of Accountability:

1. Electronics

· Troubleshoots complex circuitry for computers or computer controlled equipment throughout  the facility.

2. Electrical

· Maintains and repairs, electric equipment, cranes pumps etc. throughout the facility.

· Operates defective machinery to determine corrective actions to be taken and repairs machinery or equipment to safe working specifications.

· In accordance with national and local electric codes, installs, repairs, checks and maintains AC/DC motors and generators, switches, wiring, panel boards, distribution cabinets, lighting fixtures, and other electrical mechanisms for the building and production equipment including accessories.

· Wires and connects new and used electrical installations per electrical codes.

· Performs repairs on production machines, machine tools and building equipment, such as lighting, heating, air conditioning and pumps.

3. Mechanical

· Must be capable of troubleshooting complex machines and machine tools for problems and have the ability to disassemble and correct or repair the systems.

· Cleans and lubricates all equipment on a regular basis.

4. Heating and Cooling

· Performs boiler maintenance on the boilers and related equipment, steam taps, pumps  heater units etc.

· Performs yearly boiler maintenance and acquires all required inspection required by the state.

· Performs maintenance and repairs on heavy air conditioning units and make-up air units at this facility.  Must have proper certification for working on HVAC units and buying parts and refrigerants.

 5.  Welding and Fabricating

· Must be capable of safely fabricating any part needed using mills, drills, lathes, sheet metal fabricating tools and welders as needed.

6. Plumbing

· Must be able to perform repair plumbing task and drain cleaning as necessary.  Must also perform piping for test and assemble when needed.

7. Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA Regulations.

8. Responsible for demonstrating on-going commitment to continuous improvement.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· To hold the “A” EMT Classification, employee must hold three of the above Major Areas of Accountability 1 - 6.

· Must be physically able to list 50 pounds.

· Must be physically able to climb ladders or stairs, etc.

· Must be able to communicate using hand held radios.

· Must be able to read blueprints, schematics and interpret complex systems to trouble shoot complex equipment.
