The Cummins Emissions Solutions (CES) Controls group is developing and providing the electronic controls to support aftertreatment systems required for meeting current and future emissions legislation. This team leader position is for system test operation, and will be responsible for the following:Managing the day-to-day system testing activities, including specifying test requirements, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments to support critical delivery of aftertreatment controls to our platform customers and program integrators on quality and on time.Maintaining and upgrading bench test equipment, flow lab equipment and other testing facilities to ensure state-of-the-art performance and capability; that includes establishing test environment and specification, sourcing parts and subsystems, and supervising lab and technician for in-house development and support.Actively participating in the controls change control board (CCB) and working closely with the system and software engineers to define and develop effective test plans and strategies for new algorithms and feature contents. Developing common test methodologies and processes for the Controls group. This includes implementation and execution of simulation-based and/or CANalyzer-based test strategies. Automating system level testing and reporting for time and cost reduction.Providing direction and strategies to meet the need of new and unique aftertreatment control programs with effective system test technologies and methods.Supporting bench testing, engine test cell test, vehicle testing and field test installation for controls related issues and problems including at customer sites, and providing critical hardware and harness support for these tests. Supporting the FMEA analysis and managing the FMET process for projects in the group. 4+ years industry experience in development of complex embedded real-time control systems, with minimum 2 year direct working experience in test system/technology developmentAbility to translate system requirements into manageable test requirementsAbility to understand models and simulation of control algorithms, Matlab/Simulink development experience is requiredUnderstand J1939 protocol, working knowledge of CANalyzer and/or other CAN based tools is a plusDemonstrated ability to develop unique and innovative solutions to the problemTraining in the application of control laws and theory as applied to embedded controlsTraining and/or working knowledge of digital and analog circuits, electronic instrumentation, and measurement techniques.
