Emissions Group Leader

Summary:  The Emissions Group Leader supervises a team to certify that engine systems and fuel systems meet EPA and other governing authorities permeation and exhaust emission regulations.

Essential duties and responsibilites:

1.  Work with engineering team managers and marketing department to develop future engine needs to meet emission regulations and customer expectations.

2.  Work with plastics engineering team to develop future fuel system needs to meeting emission regulations and customer expecations.

3.  Work with engine group leaders and associates during hte design and development phases to meet emission and performance targets.

4.  Follow through on engine development phases to production to ensure engines meet FELS.

5.  Keep current with engine technology and direct it into the company product where applicable.

6.  Through field and emission bench testing, study and improve emissions durability, production line variations, and determine appropriate FELS for engine systems.

7.  Direct and schedule emission test cell actiivties.

8.  Schedule emission facility maintenance.

9.  Insure proper handling of confidential information, data materials.

10. Attend engineering staff meetings when requested.

11. Communicate engine emission status of all projects with other departments and engine vendors.

12. Responsible for administration of company policies to associates.

13. Communicate workload and scheduling with associates to meet company goals.

14.  Develop and maintain records of the engine systems.

15.  Hire, train and direct necessary personnel.

16. Work with ISMA, MIS, EPA and other governmental regulatory agencies with emission related rule making and developments.

Qualifications:

1.  Possess an understanding of engine technology required to meet EPA and other governmental emission regulations.

2.  Understand all applicable emissions regulator programs needed to ensure widest possible cost effective distribution of product.

Education and/or experience:

1.  BSME or equivalent experience.

2.  Five to ten years pervisious managerial experience and pertinent technical skills.
